MacWaste is highly skilled and experienced at fuel tanks in particular, cleaning and decommissioning fuel and oil tanks for oil terminals, storage depots and petrol stations, with residual fuel and sludge removed and disposed of in compliance with all regulations.

Confined Space Safety
Working inside a tank or vessel means working in a confined space, so every job starts with a permit-to-work and full risk assessment. Our operatives are trained and certified in confined space entry, and use gas detection equipment to continuously monitor the atmosphere inside the tank, along with breathing apparatus, harnesses and a tripod and winch rescue system so a team member can be recovered immediately if needed.
Specialist Equipment for Large Tanks
For larger storage tanks, we use a hydro-dozer — a remote-controlled unit that pushes sludge and residue across the tank floor to the extraction point without anyone needing to be inside the tank while it's running. It speeds up large-scale cleaning and reduces the time our operatives spend working in a confined space.
